About Us

East Antigonish Education Centre/Academy opened its doors in 2000. Located in the Monastery, Nova Scotia, our school is in the heart of Antigonish County, 25 minutes east of the Town of Antigonish and 20 minutes west of the Canso Causeway. The students of EAEC/A travel from many different communities including Aulds Cove, Frankville, Havre Boucher, Cape Jack, Linwood, East Tracadie, Monastery, Tracadie, Mattie’s Settlement, Merland, Afton, Paq'tnkek Mi’kmaw Nation and Bayfield. EAEC/A has a remarkably diverse student and staff population.


Mission Statement

Our mission is to respect, appreciate, and celebrate the cultural capital and lived experiences of each of our students, while preparing them to become responsible, active citizens and participants in creating a more equitable and just society.


Belief Statement

EAEC/A prides itself on respecting and nurturing all cultures, and ethnicities. We value the unique lived experiences that every individual brings with them. We also believe that learning from and about each other, respecting and valuing our differences, and building from our strengths aids our students in becoming informed, active citizens who will participate in making positive choices that will impact our future generations.
